For more information about Fannie Mae and our career opportunities, visit: www.fanniemae.com JOB INFORMATION The Senior Financial Modeler will be a member of the Independent Price Verification (IPV) group and be actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the asset, debt and derivative price verification processes. Will primarily be responsible for reviewing the modeling assumptions and approaches associated with verification processes. Price securities being bought or sold in keeping with regulatory and corporate standards and contemporaneous financial market data. Assess the reasonableness of specific modeling approaches and help to set-up, test, maintain and run the models/valuation systems deployed by the IPV group. KEY JOB FUNCTIONS Reviews all aspects of modeling used in producing valuation results reflected in the financial statements. Lead model development, selection, testing, maintenance and administration for the IPV group. Helps IPV in creating additional tools/approaches assessing the reasonability of valuation of hard-to-value derivative and debt instruments. Track values for comparable securities and debt instruments in daily market activity, with staff of customers, and with commercial research organizations in order to obtain current market valuations of variety of financial instruments. Use assigned pricing software and systems to aggregate market data and derive current market prices for variety of securities and debt instruments. Apply FASB, SEC, SOX and other federal or market-mandated rules for valuing assets and reporting them to buyers, financial institutions, regulators, and the public. Participate in monthly or other periodic mark-to-market exercises involving some or all of the organization's current inventory of assets for sale or portfolio. May guide efforts of other analysts. Participate in pricing exercises to analyze and develop new product, derivative, swap, or hedging strategy. Provide guidance or technical assistance to less experienced staff in unit. EDUCATION • Masters' or Other Advanced Degree preferred. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE • 4-6 years or equivalent experience. SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS • Reviews all aspects of modeling used in producing valuation results. • Leads model development, selection, testing, and administration for the IPV group. • Oversees creation of supporting documentation for results of analyses. • Creates additional tools/approaches assessing the reasonability of valuation of hard-to- value derivative and debt instruments.
